Short answer: pick Framer for a portfolio, a landing page or a small business site you want to design freely and launch fast. Pick Webflow for a large, content-heavy site where structure and a big CMS matter more than speed of design.
We build templates in Framer, so we are not neutral, and we say where Webflow wins. Prices were checked on both pricing pages on November 3, 2026.

Price
For a portfolio with a projects collection, Framer Basic at $10 covers it. On Webflow, Basic ($15) has no CMS, so you need Premium at $25. For a site with no CMS at all, the gap is smaller: $10 against $15. Webflow's Basic does allow far more static pages (300 against 30).
Designing and editing
Framer feels like Figma: you drag, stack and style on a canvas, and responsive layouts come from stacks and breakpoints. Webflow mirrors how the web is built, with boxes, classes and CSS rules. Webflow gives more precise control; Framer gets a good-looking page live sooner.
CMS
Both have a real CMS with collections, fields and a page per item. Framer's is simpler and enough for projects, a blog or a changelog. Webflow's suits large sites with many linked collections. See how the Framer CMS works.
Templates
Both have large marketplaces with free and paid templates. A Framer template is copied into your account with one click and edited on the canvas. If you go with Framer, start with our free templatesor the best free portfolio templates.

Questions
Is Framer easier than Webflow?
For most designers, yes. Framer works like a design tool: you place and style things on a canvas. Webflow asks you to think in boxes, classes and layout rules, which is powerful but takes longer to learn.
Is Framer cheaper than Webflow?
For small sites, yes. A Framer site with your own domain and a CMS starts at $10 a month; on Webflow the CMS starts with the $25 Premium plan. Both billed yearly, per site.
Can I move a site from Webflow to Framer?
Not automatically as a whole. Most people rebuild the layout in Framer, often from a template, and import CMS content from a CSV export.
Which is better for SEO?
Both handle the basics well: clean pages, titles, descriptions, sitemaps and fast hosting. Rankings depend far more on your content than on the builder.
